Halloween Traffic Safety Campaign Results
From Saturday, 10/19, through Sunday, 11/3, Bartlett Police Department participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) 2019 Halloween DUI and Occupant Protection Traffic Enforcement Campaigns. These statewide traffic safety initiatives were fully funded by federal safety funds through IDOT’s Bureau of Safety Programs & Engineering.
The Police Department conducted an additional 20 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target intoxicated drivers. One motorist was charged with driving under the influence and another motorist was charged with no valid driver’s license. Additionally, 15 traffic citations were issued for speeding violations and three traffic citations for other moving or non-moving violations.
Bartlett Police also conducted an additional 20 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target occupant protection violations. One motorist was charged with no valid driver’s license and another motorist was arrested for a valid warrant. Also 17 traffic citations were issued for seat belt violations and one traffic citation for a non-moving violation.
