Socktober: Community Sock Drive

Post Date:10/01/2019

Every night in the United States an estimated 600,000 people are living on the streets. They need simple things to help  get them through the night. The number one needed clothing item for those in need is new socks, but people very rarely donate new socks to the homeless!

The Village of Bartlett is once again partnering with the nonprofit group Socks and Souls, to host Socktober at its Village Hall, 228 S. Main Street. There will be a collection box in the Village Hall lobby, where everyone can drop of socks during the month of October.

Socktober is actually part of “a national sole warming movement that gives everyone an easy and fun way to help those in need.” Even the smallest act of caring, like donating a pair of new socks, can help make a huge difference in the lives of your neighbors who are homeless.
