CALEA Assessors Hear Public Comments During Onsite Visit

Post Date:07/26/2019

Representatives from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA) Assistant Chief Sharon St. Martin from Deer Park Texas Police Department and Assistant Chief Robert Sanders from Buckeye Arizona Police Department concluded the onsite reaccreditation assessment of Bartlett Police Department on Thursday, 7/25.

Bartlett Police officers and staff did an outstanding job coordinating the four-day visit, participating in interviews, guiding tours and ride-alongs.  But the real highlight of the visit was the public hearing held on Tuesday night.  Eighteen residents came out to share their experiences with Bartlett Police Department and support the re-accreditation efforts.  Here is a link to the audio recording of the hearing.   CALEA Re-Accreditation Onsite Assessment Public Hearing July 23, 2019.

The CALEA accreditation program requires law enforcement agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services. The Bartlett Police Department was awarded its first CALEA accreditation in 1997 and it continues to be unwavering in its commitment to professionalism, maintaining the highest standards of law enforcement each and every day.
