Independence Day Traffic Campaign Results
From Monday, 6/17 through Sunday, 7/7, Bartlett Police Department participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) Independence Day DUI enforcement campaign. This statewide traffic safety initiative was fully funded by a grant awarded by the IDOT’s Bureau of Safety Programs & Engineering, which aims to deter impaired driving and seat belt infractions.
Bartlett Police conducted an additional 30 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target intoxicated drivers. Two motorists were charged with driving under the influence. Police also issued 11 traffic citations for speeding violations, two traffic citations for insurance violations and 17 traffic citations for other moving or non-moving violations.
