Holiday Traffic Safety Campaign Results
Bartlett Police Department participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) Holiday DUI and Seat Belt enforcement campaigns from Monday, 12/17 through Wednesday, 1/2. These traffic safety initiatives were fully funded by a grant awarded by the IDOT’s Bureau of Safety Programs & Engineering.
The Police Department conducted an additional 30 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target intoxicated drivers. Two motorists were charged with driving under the influence. Police also issued 16 traffic citations for speeding violations, one traffic citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and 11 traffic citations for other moving or non-moving violations.
The department also conducted an additional 20 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target seat belt violations. Bartlett Police issued 13 traffic citations for seat belt violations, three traffic citations for speeding violations, and five traffic citations for other moving or non-moving violations.
