The Bartlett Police Department, Yeah! Skateboard Shop (located in town), and the Bartlett Park District, will be hosting this awesome event. Kids and teens are invited to skate, play games, listen to music and interact with police officers on a more positive level. Representatives from the Bartlett Home Depot will be helping children and their parents by constructing build-a-kits. Following the tailgate party, at 8 p.m., participants will take part in a community flashlight walk from the Jensen Pavilion to the Bartlett Aquatic Center. All Flashlight Walk participants will receive free admission to the National Night Out Pool Party. Please bring a flashlight. The Bartlett Fire Protection District will be providing free glow sticks for the walk.
Block Party/Lighting Competitions:
Saturday, July 31 - 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This event encourages each registered neighborhood group to get together and party against crime. The focus of the contest is to get to know your neighbors and share in the fun while promoting National Night Out 2010. The Block Parties judged to be the ‘best’ in terms of best lighted neighborhood, best overall, participation, theme, and spirit of National Night Out will receive an award. This year the neighborhood lighting competition will be judged in combination with the block parties.
