Bartlett Park District Logo There is always something to do, see or hear in the Bartlett area. Farsighted planning has developed an elaborate park system administered by the Bartlett Park District. The district owns or leases more than 380 acres of park lands. Included is the Apple Orchard Golf Course and the Bartlett Aquatic Center, which are both part of the huge 120.5 acre Apple Orchard Community Park, situated in the heart of the Village.

The aquatic facility opened in 1993. It offers a large swimming pool with a zero depth edge, 18-foot water slide, kids' sand play area, two sand volleyball courts, a grass sunning area, and a concession stand.

Apple Orchard Golf Course is a nine-hole, par three course, complete with a pro shop. Nearby is the Bartlett Community Center containing a fully equipped kitchen, large multi-use room for banquets and theatre, 6 preschool rooms, 2 raquetball courts, fitness center, dance studio, triple gymnasium with running tacks, an indoor aquatic center and more! It also has a preschool classroom, a large meeting room, and a gymnasium.

Other features of the Apple Orchard park include a skate park, two tennis courts, a baseball field, five soccer fields, four softball fields, playground, picnic shelter, two lighted basketball courts, wintertime ice skating, and a nature area.

Hikers, joggers, and cyclists enjoy using the Bartlett Trail, a wide, paved pathway that extends more than fourteen miles through the community. About one mile of new trails is added each year, with the goal of linking all parks and school sites. Eventually the Bartlett Trail is to tie in with the regional bike trail system.

The Bartlett Park District plans and conducts a comprehensive program of sports, recreation, and activities for residents of all ages and abilities. It includes such activities as early childhood programs, an after school program, activities for teens, a soccer program, and a variety of fitness programs.

Besides the many recreational activities, the Bartlett Park District promotes many cultural activities. The District sponsors community theatre productions as well as summer concerts in the park.
