The Village received a technical assistance grant from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) in 2015 to develop a downtown transit-oriented development plan. A steering committee of local business owners, residents, Village elected officials and staff, and representatives from the RTA and METRA was formed and worked with planning consultants on crafting this plan.
The first in a series of input sessions was held in November 2015. Using both whole-group discussion and smaller focus circles, many topics were addressed during the months that followed, including business attraction and economic development, transportation, train station access, parking and pedestrian and bike access, zoning and development opportunities.
The Village Board of Trustees adopted the final version of the TOD plan on 10/18/2016. Learn more about the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plan and see drafts of plan documents at www.BartlettDowntownTOD.com.
