Bartlett Receives 2nd Place for 2017 National Night Out Celebration

Post Date:12/01/2017
The National Association of Town Watch has awarded the Village of Bartlett second place out of 47 other similar-sized communities in the country for this year's National Night Out celebration. Bartlett was the only Illinois community to place in the top five in any of the National Night Out population categories.

National Night Out is a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, specifically designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

Thousands of Bartlett residents participated in this year’s National Night Out celebration by attending the National Night Out Twilight Skate Park Bash, Family Fun Night and Pool Party held on Friday, 7/28; the National Night Out Block Party & Neighborhood Lighting Competition and the Community Blood Drive held on Saturday, 7/29; the National Night Out Golf Skills Competition held on Sunday, 7/30; and the 24th Annual National Night Out Picnic in the Park celebration held on Tuesday, 8/1.

The Village of Bartlett thanks the Bartlett Park District, the Bartlett Fire Protection District, and all of the businesses, civic groups, volunteers and residents who contributed to the success of this year’s National Night Out celebration. Preparations have already begun for next year’s National Night Out, which will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
